Ode to having the gas on

There are a lot of cool things you can do with hot water. Like dishes, laundry, taking hot showers, giving your kid a warm bath. Little stuff that makes the world better. And after a brief, dismal ten minutes of blackout after Jessie tried hooking up the dryer, when I thought I would be spending the night in utter darkness without air conditioning, we managed to get back both power and drying capability.
